BestAI is a directory that compares AI tools by price, plans, and specs. Rather than a simple free/paid tag, its goal is to let you compare per-plan limits and actual specs side by side.

The “Popularity” score indicates how well known and discussed a tool is inside its own category. It gathers public awareness signals such as Hacker News buzz, Google Trends search interest, YouTube recent search result estimates, optional GitHub stars for OSS tools, category-specific package/community signals such as npm downloads, and source-backed public adoption benchmarks. Each signal is mapped against an absolute public-awareness threshold and missing signals are left out rather than treated as low values. A public score is shown only when at least two reliable evidence components exist. This is an awareness metric, not a measured quality benchmark.

We cover categories from image, video, audio, music, text, and productivity to code, game/3D, infra, and vertical workflows, and we steadily expand the tools and categories. External signal values are as of the time of collection and may change over time.
