About BestAI

BestAI is a directory that compares AI tools by price, plans, and specs. Rather than a simple free/paid tag, its goal is to let you compare per-plan limits and actual specs side by side.

The “AI Score” is a score computed by AI based on publicly available web information and internal evaluation criteria; it is a reference indicator to aid your choice, not a measured benchmark. It covers categories from image, video, audio, music, text, and code to game/3D and infra, and we steadily expand the tools and categories.

The “Popularity” score is a different axisfrom the AI Score (quality), indicating how well known a tool is. It gathers public signals such as GitHub stars, Hacker News mentions, and domain authority (Open PageRank), normalizes them per category, then weights and combines them into a 0–100 scale. Heavy-tailed metrics are log-transformed, and tools with little data are adjusted toward the category median. Popularity correlates with quality only within narrow areas and is structurally disadvantageous to new and niche tools, so we use it only as a supplementary indicator, not a signal that dominates ranking. External signal values are as of the time of collection and may change over time.
